Ardagh Metal Packaging-Europe expands portfolio with XO Ends: Innovative resealable solution for beverage cans

Ardagh Metal Packaging-Europe (AMP-Europe) has become the official distributor of XO resealable ends for beverage cans, expanding its portfolio of innovative packaging solutions for the beverage industry. Through this partnership, AMP-Europe will make XO’s resealable end technology available to customers, offering a new solution designed to enhance consumer convenience, on-the-go usage, and product differentiation in an increasingly competitive market.

XO is an innovative resealable system for beverage cans, designed to enhance convenience and flexibility in everyday consumption. Its integrated resealing functionality allows the can to be securely closed after opening while enabling easy, intuitive, one-handed operation and combining familiarity with added functionality. The solution is designed for modern beverage categories where portability, flexibility, and consumer experience are key purchase drivers.

The agreement positions AMP-Europe as the key commercial partner for XO ends in Europe. By integrating this solution into its existing offering, AMP-Europe strengthens its role as a provider of value-added beverage packaging and reinforces its commitment to bringing innovative technologies to market that respond to evolving consumer and brand needs.

The beverage industry continues to evolve toward formats that combine convenience and unique consumer experience. Increasing demand for on-the-go consumption and flexible usage occasions is driving interest in packaging solutions that offer added functionality beyond traditional formats. In this context, resealable packaging solutions are gaining relevance as brands seek to differentiate their products and respond to changing consumer expectations around product experience. XO ends offer an opportunity to enhance product differentiation, while supporting brand strategies focused on innovation. With the support of AMP-Europe’s commercial and technical teams, customers can also explore the applications and integration opportunities for the beverage cans.

“We see strong potential for resealable packaging solutions in the beverage industry, driven by changing consumption habits and market trends. XO ends are a natural fit within our strategy to expand into these evolving application areas, supporting beverage brands in responding to new market expectations and creating additional value through packaging innovation,” said Gerlof Toenhake, Marketing and Business Development Director at AMP-Europe.

Marc von Rettberg, CEO Xolution Germany GmbH: “This agreement is a logical step towards further commercialising our resealable XO can-closing system. We see that the market is evolving in terms of packaging innovation, and XO helps to strengthen beverage brands’ value proposition. For consumers, and therefore for AMP-Europe customers, XO offers many new benefits beyond portability, including an improved experience through responsible drinking, portion control, and product protection. We are pleased that XO, as a driver of additional revenue and profit through new drinking occasions, enhanced shelf appeal and differentiation, as well as increased sales opportunities in away-from-home channels, is now an innovative addition to the AMP-Europe portfolio.”

XO ends are now available through AMP-Europe for commercial discussions. Beverage brands interested in exploring potential applications, technical integration, or product sampling are encouraged to contact their AMP-Europe sales representative for further information and support.
